Editorial :::
A PROMISING START
A ways to go

Readers Theatre Digest's editorial policy is to provide a wide range of RT information from individuals currently and actively engaged in RT. We will not be printing plays nor will we be presenting 'how-to' articles per se. However, through interviews, anecdotal and opinion pieces readers will discover a growing wealth of background information to help them develop a RT component in their own theatre community. The generous use of relevant links will connect readers to specialized resources on the Internet.

Our growing list of regular contributors covers RT with a breadth and depth of viewpoints and expertise found in no other single source on the Internet. And beginning with our next issue (#4 - Spring 2004) we'll be introducing two high school students who will collaborate on a series of articles from their perspective, sharing their opinions and personal experiences in this unique theatre form.

With only two issues under our belt we're already international. We now have readers from Australia, UK, Japan, Brazil, Ireland and Denmark to name a few. Oddly enough, most of these countries have no Readers Theatre activity at all and are looking to our RTDigest online magazine as a source of information to help them to at least experiment with the form. THey have come to the right place.

And we've only just begun. Future issues will cover such subjects as Copyrights and Permissions, Touring RT, Technical Embellishments, RT for mature audiences, Adapting Non-dramatic Literature, RT and the Elderly. We'll also continue to reprint the best of the Internet relevant to RT (with permissions, of course).

Individuals who enjoy writing and have something to share on the subject of RT should go to our Editorial Policy Page for information about submitting articles and ideas for articles to RTD.
